Commercial drivers are required by federal law to have periodic physical examinations. These examinations are called DOT physicals because they are regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under the Department of Transportation (DOT).

Because the transportation industry is heavily regulated, only medical examiners certified by the FMCSA are allowed to perform DOT physicals. Industry Health's certified medical examiners understand these regulations and can accurately determine a driver's ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
